April is from Royal Oak, MI. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in English and Psychology. She taught English for 2 years and specializes in using APA format. She also enjoys eliminating extra words and academic
jargon.
Filipe is a graduate student and graduate assitant with the English Department at EKU concentrating on Language Studies and ESL. Filipe is originally from Brazil with English being his second language. He has taught EFL in China and Brazil as well as ESL with EELI at EKU. His writing interests range from creative non-fiction and poetry to technical writing.
Jerry of the EKU English Graduate School was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia in 1974. He holds a B.S. in Aeronautics with a naval science minor from Miami of Ohio, & a Master's in Liberal Arts from St. John's College of Annapolis, MD.

During his 5 1/2 years as a navigation officer in the US Navy he deployed to 23 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia.  Following his military service, he worked for the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute as a crewmember of the research vessel Atlantis. His print credits include fiction, essays, and poetry for The Southern Arts Journal, Relief: A Quarterly Christian Expression, The Ink-Filled Page, Chronicles: A Magazine of American Culture, Hereditas, and Catholic Men's Quarterly.
Lee was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She's a junior pursuing an undergraduate degree in Creative Writing (with a minor in journalism) and an Honors student. She is also a freelance editor, which is her ultimate career goal. Lee has had experience editing two books by a published author. Also, she is very familiar with MLA format.
Marissa is a senior literature major from Bell County, KY.  When she tutors, she really enjoys using a very visual, or very hands on approach in order to reach all different kinds of students.  She's also into creative writing, and has worked at a newspaper, so she can help with those needs as well. She's excited to be able to help and have tons of fun doing it!
Chris is a graduate student emphasizing in creative writing. He graduated from Bellarmine University in 2005 where he also produced a creative thesis of short fiction. He one day hopes to own a penguin.
Ginger Pennington graduated from Centre College where she studied dramatic arts and also creative writing (which is also her concentration here at EKU. Although she is terrible at organizing her life, she is great at organizing essays! She has worked as a TV news producer, a newspaper reporter, a DJ, an actress, and a carpenter, and she has been the lead singer for two rock bands. She loves hip-hop, foreign films, fashion, traveling the world, and the constellation Orion. She hopes to join the Peace Corps after graduation.
Aaron is currently a Junior from Paducah, KY working on his undergraduate degree in English with an emphasis in literature. He has a strong passion towards literature, more specifically, the works of Willliam Shakespeare. His strengths as a tutor consist of editing papers and the understanding and analyzation of literature and other readings. 
Lindsey is a graduate of Pikeville College.  She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Religion, and is now a first year graduate student at Eastern Kentucky University.  Her emphasis is in American Literature.
Falinia is from Pineville, KY (their claim to fame is Chain Rock and The Flood Wall). She has an Associate's in Biological Science from LCC, a Baccalaureate in Creative Writing from EKU, and currently working on a Masters in English. Her degree and interests are in English Literature, with an emphasis in British literature. She plans to attend the University of Cincinnati to pursue a Ph.D. in English. Falinia enjoys watching movies with her better half, spending time with her Conure, Benjamin, and when time permits, playing WoW.
Zach is from Trimble County, KY and is a graduate student in the English department, emphasizing in American Literature. He is particularly interested in travel literature, teaching English as a second language, environmental writing, literary theory and criticism, and Native American literature.
Ami, willing also to help you find that perfect hat, studies American Literature as a Master's student at EKU. Her major areas of interest are 20th century American literature, queer theory, postcolonial writings, and, of course, composition. You'll find her especially helpful in the prewriting and drafting processes, but she loves to help students at all levels and stages of writing any type of genre. She loves to read people's ideas and help them see the direction they might consider going next.
