I. Planning Stage
Before the exam:
Analyze your audience.
During the exam:
- Analyze the question.
- Plan your timetable.
- Compose a tentative thesis and your approach.
- List reasons to support your thesis and
the opposite side
- Integrate "the other side" into
your answer.
- Generate an outline with examples.
II. Drafting Stage
- Write an introductory paragraph that includes
thesis.
- Write the rest of the essay, incorporating
examples.
- Write a concluding paragraph presenting
a new perspective.
III. Revising Stage
- Revise for content.
- Revise for coherence.
- Proofread for surface errors.
