Do you enjoy writing? Are you interested in web site design? Do you have a special knack for producing clear, concise, and credible documents? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then Technical Writing may be the career for you.

Eastern Kentucky University now offers a Technical Writing Emphasis as part of its English program. This web page is dedicated to helping visitors come to a better understanding of what technical writing is, what technical writers do, and what types of jobs technical writers hold.

What is technical writing?

Technical writing is a type of professional communication that creates specialized documents, which may include both text and graphics. The purpose of technical writing is to report information, explain concepts, and provide instructions for a specific audience.
