General Guidelines

Our reading period is June 1 through October 1.

Please submit only once during the reading period.

All submissions must be typed: single-spaced for poetry and double-spaced for fiction.

A short cover letter with bio is preferred.

We try and respond within three months.

No previously published works are considered.

We pay one contributor's copy.

SASE is required.

We do not accept email or fax submissions.

Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but not encouraged. You must let us know that a submission is simultaneous in your cover letter, and let us know immediately if a piece is accepted elsewhere.

As of our 2004 issue, we will no longer read submissions from EKU faculty, staff, and students. We feel this policy is necessary as we award monetary prizes and submit work for the Pushcart Prize. We thank the EKU community for their support in the past, and we look forward to your support in the future.

Poetry:

Submit 3-5 poems at a time.

Fiction:

Stories must be 10,000 or fewer words.
