About the Writing AwardsEach year, the Department of English honors the best papers submitted by faculty at an awards banquet. Every class that requires writing has a category, from basic writing to graduate creative writing courses. This year's banquet will be April 20, 2004, at 7 pm in the Stratton Cafeteria. Dr. Joe Survant, Kentucky's Poet Laureate and professor at Western Kentucky University, will be the featured speaker.
