5. How do I register for the exam?
Whether you are a full-time or part-time student, you must register for the
writing examination as you would a course when you register for the next semester
after you successfully complete 60 hours of course work applicable to graduation
(these hours do not include courses with 09 designations). For example, if you
will complete sixty hours of course work in the fall semester, you must register
for the exam when you register for the following spring semester. If you plan
to complete 60 hours during the summer session or have completed 60 hours in
the spring semester, you must register for a fall administration of the exam.
Usually the exam is only offered once during Summer Session.
If for some reason you did not register for the exam when you registered for
the semester, you may register for it up to one week prior to the scheduled
examination date. It would be wise to register early, however, to assure getting
to take it at the time you prefer.
