21. What it I fail the UWR repeatedly?

A few students have such severe writing difficulties that they are unable to pass the UWR after repeated attempts over several semesters, even with remediation. Such students should keep a careful record of their consulting sessions in the Writing Center and all other tutoring and remediation efforts, as well as the dates of attempting the exam.

Writing proficiency must be achieved in order for a student to be eligible for an EKU Bachelor's Degree. If thorough, documented, and honest efforts at writing improvement seem futile, the student should discuss the problem with his or her dean.

Students failing the exam 3 times must enroll in ENG 099.
