River of Earth, 1940. The Viking Press. Still's best-known work, a 245-page novel which contrasts coal-camp life with subsistence farming.

Way Down Yonder on Troublesome Creek: Appalachian Riddles and Rusties, 1975. G. P. Putnam's Sons. A children's book of 48-un-numbered pages, illustrated by Janet McCaffery.

The Wolfpen Rusties: Appalachian Riddles and Gee-Haw Whimmy-Diddles, 1975. G. P. Putnam's Sons. A 57-page book for children illustrated by Janet McCaffery.

Pattern of a Man and Other Stories, 1976. The Gnomon Press, Frankfort, Kentucky. A 122-page collection of short stories.

River of Earth: The Poem and Other Poems, 1983. The King Library Press, Lexington, Kentucky. 14 leaves, limited to 75 copies in wraps, issued by the Library of the University of Kentucky.

The Wolfpen Poems, 1986. Berea College Press, Berea, Kentucky. An 82-page poetry collection. Contains all the poems in Hounds on the Mountain plus some newer poems.

Rusties, Riddles and Gee-Haw Whimmy Diddles, 1988, University Press of Kentucky. A 114-page re-printing of Still's first two children's books together.

The Wolfpen Notebooks, 1990. University Press of Kentucky. A 178-page book consisting primarily of selections from Still's extensive notebooks, edited by Rabun County High School students from the North Georgia mountains.
